An image for a pioneering festival. TITEREMURCIA Puppet Festival
Paparajote designs the poster of the Titeremurcia Puppet Festival in its 9th and 10th edition.
For the 9th edition, the photograph was worked showing a kid watching a real pigeon moved with threads of puppets. The claim has been “The Stories Come Back” in allusion to the return in its annual event of the shows of puppet theater in the street.
For the 10th edition, a poster was designed based on the effect of the kaleidoscope on some theatrical objects. The result is an optical play that produces a dreamlike print. The kaleidoscope is one of the best known toys in the world and one of the most appreciated for its optical effect produced by a tube containing three mirrors, and various objects of different shapes and colors. As you turn the tube while looking at the opposite end, the images are multiplied symmetrically creating a very dreamy and special effect. The claim of this edition has been “The game of looking at stories”.
The International Theater Puppet Festival of the Region of Murcia comes in November each year, and tries to show this type of theater for all audiences.
“The first edition of the Festival took place in 2002, although the festival dates back to 1993 with the creation of” Los Viernes Títeres “, one of the first stable shows of puppet theater in our country, as well as The two editions of the Visual Theater Show organized in 1999 and 2000.
The Puppet Friday was one of the first initiatives carried out by UNIMA Murcia sponsored by the Culture Local Goberment. During the eight years this show lasted, The Puppet Fridings consolidated as a stable theater program in our region, programming more than 300 performances and receiving the warm support of more than 90,000 spectators from the city of Murcia and other neighboring municipalities.
In the year 2016 Titeremurcia completed 15 editions.
